Lemon – citrus limonum USA – Lemon is unique among citrus in that the essential oil will alkalinize the system, rather than acidify it. This is important in maintaining good health because as far as ph goes, most of us are too acid, and need to balance our ph to the alkaline side. When you have proper ph, your immunity and resistance to illness are much more effective. Lemon is a strong anti-bacterial; fever reducer; will lower blood pressure; and is strongly anti-viral. This oil is a detoxifier and liver regenerator. Recent studies show lemon, and other oils containing significant portions of limonene, may prove valuable in preventing and curing breast cancer. Lemon also increases circulation; is useful for insomnia and anemia, and as an ant-acid. In a salve form it is good against herpes; it is a styptic; fights arteriosclerosis, and is anti-inflammatory. One drop in a litre of water will purify the water, rendering it safe for drinking.
